My sincere apologies, I have been missing for a long time. I am truly sorry for my lack of posts, I was busy being everything but a blogger.
However I have been inspired by many people and places over the last few months. Here is a handful of what has been going on...
We drove to Sydney before christmas and had a lovely holiday. Along the way we stopped and visited lovely friends, towns with cute shops and funky cafes, a countryside filled with excellent playgrounds and country markets to keep us all happy. In Sydney we stayed near Bondi and swam at Coogee and Clovelly and we ferried around the harbour daily. Some of the highlights were the Annie Leibovitz exhibition, Luna Park (for the kids) and the Back to the 80's exhibit at Powerhouse Museum.
Christmas day was hosted here at home by us and it all turned out perfectly delightful and delicious. The girls were happy and gracious with their gifts, what more can you ask for?
I have been working alot (so over it!) and we have had a truckload of visitors staying. We headed back up the coast for our first ever camping with kids trip and it was fun. We have had the tent forever but had never really take the next step (actually camping in it). So thanks to an invitation from our lovely friends who make everything about camping seem effortless and gourmet, we did it. We toasted marshmallows, surfed in the ocean, got sunburnt and relaxed.
We secretly can't wait to go again (hopefully at Easter) and have been casually visiting op shops to stock up on retro camping utensils in preparation.
This weekend I have been in the garden planting, cutting, digging and watering and have really enjoyed myself. Husband got the mowing and pruning jobs because he is so strong like King Kong and the girls have been wandering around behind me with watering cans, running under the sprinkler in their undies and helping me plant mint and parsley. The lady who lives behind us left a bag of plums hanging over the fence for us, so the girls thought that was the best surprise ever. We have really been enjoying our times out in the yard together. Today is forecast to be very hot, so we will walk to the pool again today and have another splash.
This year will be different for us because little E starts prep this week,my beautiful dj hubby has a new position at work,S goes to Grade 2 (yikes!!) and I have enrolled as a fulltime student. What??? I am equal parts crazy, nervous, excited and hopeful for the possibilities it may bring. It really is unfinished business for me.
